Beachy Morning

This morning Char and I decided to take a little trip down to the beach!  It has been perfect foggy beach weather all week.  Normally I am not a huge fan of it being overcast when I wake up, especially since it is supposed to be summer!  But lately I haven't minded.  Maybe because I am a gazillion months pregnant, and sweat constantly ;)  

Orrrr...perhaps it is because the fog has been clearing up quickly and it gets nice and sunny outside by afternoon time!

We met up with some of our favorite people, the Sarrs!

38 weeks l Baby #2

Welp, here are the latest stats:

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 38 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Around 27 lbs. 

Maternity Clothes: All I can fit into

Sleep: Sleeping ok.  Feeling very heavy lately-having some intense Braxton Hicks contractions at night.

Best Moment this week: Seeing our little girl on an ultrasound. The midwife ordered one because I am still measuring 33 weeks, but should be around 38. Baby girl measured on time at the appointment!  She was pretty squished in there! The ultrasound tech said for measuring small I have a pretty good sized baby in there :) 

Gender: GIRL!!!!

Movement: Still rolling, kicking and pivoting. :) I love em all!

Food Cravings: Food has become very unappetizing lately. I'm pretty much only eating because I have to :/ 

Food Aversions: Everything? 

How's Mama? Hanging in there :) Getting spurts of energy, then feeling completely exhausted.  Definitely have had my nesting moments-and I think Jon has too!  Cleaned out our entire closet, got rid of clothes, and turned our room upside down!  But now it feels clean! And all ready for baby.

What I am looking forward to: Seeing what Baby #2 looks like! And having Char meet her baby sister :)

How is Char doing:  Charliegh is....drumroll please....officially potty trained!!  She has done SO WELL!! A couple accidents here and there, but for the most part she is awesome!  And NONE of the accidents have been while we are out and about (which I thought would be the hard part).  I think she gets distracted when playing, and doesn't want to stop and go pee! :)  She, surprisingly, tells me when she has to go too! Yay Char!!

The end draws near!! And yet it feels so stinkin far away!! 

I don't remember feeling this impatient waiting for Charleigh to get here. Maybe that's because I had a little more energy near the end, or because I had my sister and her family visiting so it helped keep my mind off of everything. 

Lately it seems as if these last few weeks are d r a g g i n g oooonnnnn. 

However, I have been looking at it as a chance to spend as much one on one time as possible with my little Charleigh Grace. Today we had a midwife appointment and Char got to lay on the table with me. The midwife even measured her belly and listened to her tummy with the doppler. It was precious. Wish I had told Jon to take a picture :) 

Maternity Pictures l Baby #2

Last weekend one of my very dearest friends took some maternity pictures for me

We took these out by our house.  The whole day had been overcast, but once we went outside to take these pictures the sun came out!  Perfect timing.  And I couldn't be any happier with how they turned out.  And Char was wonderful!  No break downs, and TONS of smiles!

37 weeks...baby is fully cooked!  

Can't wait to meet and kiss her little face.

So thankful for this girl, seriously.  Don't know what I would do without my Jenna Rae!

Yosemite Camping Trip

A couple weekends ago we traveled up to the great land that is called Yosemite.  Ahhh...I think I could have stayed up there til the end of summer, and then some.  I love being in the mountains! And I LOVED being unplugged.  Seriously.  Could not care one bit that I couldn't update my Facebook or Instagram.

Half of my childhood was spent wandering in the mountains or being on a boat in the lake.  My parents had a cabin up at Shaver Lake-and I SO wish we still had it! I enjoyed going up there so much-but as my sister and I got older and went off to college it just wasn't realistic to keep it at that time. So this trip was a real treat for me!

We went with my roommate from college, Emily, and her cute little family.

Her husband's brother also showed up with his girlfriend and doggy.  They were a lot of fun to get to know :)

And last but not least, the Sarr's joined us on this epic camping trip!

Pit stop: lunch time!

Yep, your eyes aren't fooling you, all three of us girlies are definitely preggo!

Jenna: 25 weeks, Me: 35 weeks, Emily: 28 weeks

Yes, we are slightly insane-but it was SO worth it!  I was a little sluggish the first day, but quickly acclimated to everything.  Yes, I was WORN OUT each day-but I have to give a HUGE shout out (do people even say that anymore? Shout out! What What) to my amazing, wonderful, hunk of a husband!  He helped SO MUCH with Charleigh.  It's not easy camping with a two year old, next to a river, in the middle of the woods.  I realized how much I take her playing on her own, in a contained space, with her toys, for granted most of the time.  Finally we realized she could explore in the car for about an hour each morning, and not have one of us chasing after her every 2 seconds yelling "no char char", "yucky char char", "that doesn't go in your mouth char char", "come back please Charleigh". Ha.....and the list goes on and on.  So that saved us for some of the day.

Ahhhhhh serenity.  

We got so blessed by this campsite, seriously.  We didn't get any of the ones we had planned on getting-but I now know that was God watching out for us...especially us preggo ladies ;)  This site was a panic, all they had left, let's just get SOMETHING, decision.  And WOW.  When we arrived I was stunned.  It butted up to a river, which I was worried about at first, but once I saw it-and all the people floating down it-I was "happy, happy, happy".  Especially since the temp was 90+ in the afternoons.  We would all go for our afternoon swim-and it was glorious!  It also helped keep all the kiddos occupied.

What a blessing in disguise!

Eventhough I was 35 weeks pregnant-and completely exhausted by the end of this trip-I wouldn't change a thing.  It was such a fun trip!

Our solution? Baths in the ice chests of course!

Next summer we are planning to visit Bend, OR.  No kiddos this time ;)  Just a little adult trip.  Emily and I would like to continue to meet up once a year (at least), and do every other with kids-and the off years without.  Sounds good to me!

I would like to go back to this little treasure of a place though.  When we got into town I asked Jon "Is it weird that I want to go back?...like right now?"  He laughed-but agreed. It was a fun adventure!  Can't wait to get back into the mountains again! They are calling my name :)
