I admit...I cheated on this one...I didn't actually take it that day.  But look at their matching outfits! How could I not put this up for clothing!?

Inspiring person

My sister inspires me to be a good mom.  She is so patient with Delaney and is always doing fun activities with her :)

and this little one...how can you not be inspired by this!? ha.

on a serious note, this little girl inspires me by her kind heart.  She is so sweet and I LOVED getting to spend some time with her and her mama this past week!

Well, I think this is where I will take a little break ::phew:: Charleigh is taking her nap and I'm afraid she'll wake any moment!  I will post a couple more days from the challenge tomorrow! :)

a little time away...

This week I am at my parent's house. And because I want to make the most of the time I have with them I won't be posting my daily pictures...however, I WILL continue to take a photo a day and keep up with my challenge-I will just post them all later when I get the free time next week :) Enjoy your Thanksgiving! I know I will....my sissy is coming!! And she is bringing my ADORABLE niece Laney Bug!

Memories and babies!

Memories

This is my "memories box"..it has miscellaneous tickets, cards from birthdays, my wedding, and baby shower, pamphlets from places I have traveled, etc.  This is where I try to store my memories so that I can look at these things and they can trigger an exact memory that I love.

(yes, that pink paper does say "fishing license"-I went with Jon when we were first dating and had a blast...then I taught him how to gut and clean it) :) 

DAY 17

Something new

My something new-making these "white wedding" cupcakes for the first time! They were delicious.  

AND it was my first time filling a cupcake (cinnamon and sugar cream cheese filling...YUM!) 

AAANND wanna know what they were for???...my dear friend Jenna is pregnant.  They already have the cutest (well, besides Charleigh...hehe- and to Jenna who I know will read this---I have to be biased, she's my daughter!) little girl Paige.  Jenna wanted to do something fun to reveal the gender of this baby, and so I told her I would make cupcakes and fill them with either pink or blue!

 Can you guess what they are gonna have? ;)  

They are going to eat them tonight with her family...so that is when this post will make it's appearance, even-though I am finishing writing it at 3:30 pm today.  I can't spill the secret quite yet! 

Something new-my new cupcake recipe (including filling and homemade buttercream frosting) and a little baby BOY Sarr! Waahoo!

(too bad arranged marriages are frowned upon cause I know who we'd pick for Charleigh!;))

Technology

Charleigh Grace- You are 4 months old today! I love every minute I get to spend with you! You are now rolling ALL THE WAY over, you giggle at mommy and daddy (especially right before bedtime), you love bath-time (splashing everywhere!), you watch us like a hawk when we eat (uh oh!...you are gonna LOVE food :)), you smile at anyone, and you like sitting in your stroller like a big girl.  Your daddy and I love you so very much! We are enjoying watching your grow and learn new things ( like holding your toys now, and putting EVERYTHING in your mouth!) Oh my little nugget-you are so sweet and precious-I thank God for you daily...even when your screaming makes me want to pull my hair out! (guess I should be thankful that God gave you a nice set of lungs too!) ;)

Today I went to my friend Jenna's house (she is doing the photo challenge too! Check it out here!).

We had a fun playdate-and made some of these!

Home-made Pop Tarts! Some we filled with Strawberry Jam, and the others we filled with.... drum-roll please...NUTELLA! Ahhhh...

Then we sat around and had some fun watching the kiddos!

I have always loved my friend Emily's handwriting. She is always writing me little notes and sending them in the mail. This is one of those notes. I love her creativity :)

This is one of my journal entries-it talks about all the things I love about my husband (then boyfriend)

and this is a letter (in her baby book) to my "sweet baby girl" :)

As you can see, I LOVE written words...especially handwritten ones!

Something old

My mommy is here visiting! YAY! She came early this morning and we took Charleigh to Gopher Glenn-an apple farm in San Luis Obispo. We bought some Pink Ladys (apples that is) and I made a yummy Dutch Apple Pie (how is that different than normal apple pie?...it has a scrumptious crumb topping instead of crust!) So my something old-my mom wouldn't let me take a picture of her...hehe ;) And I had a tough time figuring out what else around here was older than her....juuuust kiiiding :) But then the thought occurred to me. I have always loved my mom's wedding ring. It is very unique and one-of-a-kind. I also love the story behind it. My dad knew exactly what he wanted to give her as an engagement/wedding band-so instead of going and picking out a ring he actually drew this one up, and had the jeweler make an exact copy of his drawing! Pretty romantic huh? Who knew! ;) So this is my something old. Not because my mom is old...but because I have always loved this ring and what it stands for in their relationship-a commitment that they have kept for the past 33 years. Wow.

My little baby is still fighting off a bad cold-so my nature today was running outside quickly with the 2 minutes I had free today and snapping a picture of the first thing I saw that was "nature-y"...And I am always a sucker for pretty flowers ;)

In your closet

(switched Day 9 with Day 23...I'm going home for a week and figured "In your closet" would be hard if I weren't home! And..my little one is sick today so I am stuck inside tending to her...I needed a "quick" photo day today. And since I'm not out and about an "inspiring person" would be difficult to find! :)..and I'm sure I can find some inspiring people when I'm home for a week!)

this is just a small tidbit of how crazy the inside of our closet is at the moment...I tried to organize in these little hanging boxes...but I don't think it's working!

And hangers...because I liked the way the looked in a picture...and because I don't want you to see any more of my mess! ;)

So I am not brave enough to show my entire closet! It is quite a disaster zone at the moment-and I blame that on not enough space!! I got SPOILED at our old place. I had a huge closet. If Jon and I ever build a home-I am going to replicate that closet! (no joke) It was seriously that amazing, and I would've loved to show you around that one-but instead we are stuck with this crazy space :)

Favorite Color(s)

This one was difficult for me. My all time favorite color, ever since I was little, is green. Plain and simple green. I have always loved that color and most of my wardrobe pertains to that particular color. However, my color(s) of choice tends to swing from time to time. And as of now, this is the color pallet that I have been drawn to. So today-these are my favorite colors (I couldn't pick just one!...again, my indecisiveness shines through!)

Oh, and those baby blues of hers are my absolute favorite right now ;)

So with this one I thought of picking all different objects/shades of one particular color-but that didn't inspire me. Instead, I searched my house for colors I liked and wallah! I grabbed my camera and snapped away-here is that result. My favorite color....s :)

Day 7

Something funny

This little girl makes me laugh all the time...and I still can't get over her hairline! We call her our little "monk". I love her small patch of hair along the back of her head (looks like she inherited her Grandpa Steve's hairline!). If I were to put some sunglasses on there it would look like a little mustache :) hehe. But I'm not that mean...and Charleigh will probably look at all of these one day so I have to be careful ;) I also love how she seems to know when I am talking about her hair....the picture in the middle is the face I get everytime! ("Mom...please...just give it up already..so I have funny hair-who cares.") I can hear her little "teenager" voice already! ha! So this was my "something funny" for the day!

(And watching her splash all around in the bathtub-but it's too hard to capture a picture with all that wiggling!)

Books

I love reading-but lately that has been put on hold. I pick taking a nap or shower over reading these days ;) So these are the books I have out on my table these days.

What to Expect: Year One

Mockingjay (last book in the Hunger Games Trilogy...I started this one right before Charleigh was born and am only on chapter 4. I recently started trying to finish it-but have honestly probably read about 10 pages in the last month)

The Bible (Hey, it's Sunday-I have to include it in the mix;)-very thankful for this one!)

And since this is a 30 day photography challenge for gratitude I have to say I am VERY thankful for books and love how they let me escape into a different world for a while. :)
