Yosemite Camping Trip

A couple weekends ago we traveled up to the great land that is called Yosemite.  Ahhh...I think I could have stayed up there til the end of summer, and then some.  I love being in the mountains! And I LOVED being unplugged.  Seriously.  Could not care one bit that I couldn't update my Facebook or Instagram.

Half of my childhood was spent wandering in the mountains or being on a boat in the lake.  My parents had a cabin up at Shaver Lake-and I SO wish we still had it! I enjoyed going up there so much-but as my sister and I got older and went off to college it just wasn't realistic to keep it at that time. So this trip was a real treat for me!

We went with my roommate from college, Emily, and her cute little family.

Her husband's brother also showed up with his girlfriend and doggy.  They were a lot of fun to get to know :)

And last but not least, the Sarr's joined us on this epic camping trip!

Pit stop: lunch time!

Yep, your eyes aren't fooling you, all three of us girlies are definitely preggo!

Jenna: 25 weeks, Me: 35 weeks, Emily: 28 weeks

Yes, we are slightly insane-but it was SO worth it!  I was a little sluggish the first day, but quickly acclimated to everything.  Yes, I was WORN OUT each day-but I have to give a HUGE shout out (do people even say that anymore? Shout out! What What) to my amazing, wonderful, hunk of a husband!  He helped SO MUCH with Charleigh.  It's not easy camping with a two year old, next to a river, in the middle of the woods.  I realized how much I take her playing on her own, in a contained space, with her toys, for granted most of the time.  Finally we realized she could explore in the car for about an hour each morning, and not have one of us chasing after her every 2 seconds yelling "no char char", "yucky char char", "that doesn't go in your mouth char char", "come back please Charleigh". Ha.....and the list goes on and on.  So that saved us for some of the day.

As well as this gem.

Ahhhhhh serenity.

We got so blessed by this campsite, seriously.  We didn't get any of the ones we had planned on getting-but I now know that was God watching out for us...especially us preggo ladies ;)  This site was a panic, all they had left, let's just get SOMETHING, decision.  And WOW.  When we arrived I was stunned.  It butted up to a river, which I was worried about at first, but once I saw it-and all the people floating down it-I was "happy, happy, happy".  Especially since the temp was 90+ in the afternoons.  We would all go for our afternoon swim-and it was glorious!  It also helped keep all the kiddos occupied.

What a blessing in disguise!

Eventhough I was 35 weeks pregnant-and completely exhausted by the end of this trip-I wouldn't change a thing.  It was such a fun trip!

 Lot's of dirt!

Our solution? Baths in the ice chests of course!

Next summer we are planning to visit Bend, OR.  No kiddos this time ;)  Just a little adult trip.  Emily and I would like to continue to meet up once a year (at least), and do every other with kids-and the off years without.  Sounds good to me!

I would like to go back to this little treasure of a place though.  When we got into town I asked Jon "Is it weird that I want to go back?...like right now?"  He laughed-but agreed. It was a fun adventure!  Can't wait to get back into the mountains again! They are calling my name :)

Thank you Hobbs and Sarr's for making this trip that much more special!!  Love you all!

34 Weeks l Baby #2

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 34 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Around 24lbs

Maternity Clothes: All I can fit into now!

Sleep: Sleeping ok.  Feeling very heavy lately-and it's hard to get comfortable

Best Moment this week: Well, it wasn't this week necessarily, but we got to go visit Texas a couple weeks ago.  That was fun :)  Got to meet my new niece Daphne-and Char got to play with her cousin Laney.  Can't wait to get all four girls together!

Gender: GIRL!!!!

Movement: Rolls, kicks, spins. :) I love em all!

Food Cravings: Same ol, same ol....Fruit and cereal!  And ice cream :)

Food Aversions: Mexican food...still. Sorry Jonny! And now when I smell coffee I've been getting a little queasy.

How's Mama? Doing good.  Leaving for a camping trip this weekend to Yosemite.  Ya...what was I thinking. 34 weeks pregnant and sleeping in a tent with a two year old. HA!  At least I will have two other preggo moms with me to go crazy with :)  I have been slowing down lately.  My lower back hurts a ton if I try and do too much throughout the day.  I have also become nauseous again-not as bad as in the beginning-but it is definitely there.  Other than that I am enjoying feeling my little girl move and spin.  Trying to soak it all in before she makes her debut :)

What I am looking forward to: Seeing what Baby #2 looks like! And having Char meet her baby sister :)

How is Char doing:  Char is doing good! She no longer has a paci, sleeps in a big girl bed, and after this camping trip we are going full force potty training!  She is so cuddly with mommy lately-and wants baby sister to come play with her throughout the day (which entails having mommy sit close to her) :)

Charleigh's Birthday in Pictures

Charleigh Grace is 2

My sweet baby girl, how are you two years old already!? Where has the time gone...

You are so full of life and energy.  You keep mommy and daddy on their toes, for sure!  But we wouldn't want it any other way :)  You are silly, loving, energetic, kind, joyful, and such a precious gift!

You no longer use a paci (pas pas), you sleep in a big girl bed, you have a lot more hair than you did a year ago ;), you have a big girl car seat, and you talk non stop!

You can count to 10!

LOVES:

Taking showers :)

Being "sha-booty sha-booty"...what you call nakey!

Playing with cousin Laney-and your friends Paigey, Jude & Brooklyn

Animals of any kind

TinkerBell, Bubble Guppies & Dora

Reading your books

Stickers!

Both your blankets (pink & blue)

Wrestling with dad-dad

Cuddling with mommy

Char Char bites (donut holes)

Swinging

Saying prayers

Favorite foods are apples/nectarines (to you they are the same)...but only as long as you can hold the entire thing and take bites out!, eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, broccoli and oatmeal.

DISLIKES:

Getting out of the bath

Putting jammies on (still)

Leaving Mah & Pop Pop's house

You don't dislike much-but you are at an age where you don't like being told what to do.  We try to offer you choices, but sometimes that's just not enough.  Big tantrums have surfaced from you :)

For your birthday we got you a bunny!  You love going out and feeding him/her (not quite sure).
Bunny had a name (Hopper), but you changed it to Birthday.  When we gave bunny to you we kept saying "Happy Birthday!" so I think you got a little confused :)  But it is the cutest thing ever.  Everytime we go outside you yell "Hi Birthday!!"

You will be a BIG SISTER soon!!

Texas 2013

Two weeks ago Charleigh and I began our great Texas adventure!

Thankfully my mother joined us.  Not sure I could've done it without her...ok ok, I COULDN'T have done it without her.  Being 32 weeks pregnant and chasing a rambunctious 2 year old through the airport...WOW.

Thanks Mom :)

We arrived in Texas around 12am their time, so 10 pm our time.  We were all tired, but not completely worn out.  Charleigh had a melt down trying to get her to sleep in her own bed at my sister's house-so that took some time (and energy) out of my mom and I.  Finally we put her to sleep between us.

About an hour later I see my phone light up...weird.  Oh well, I will just go back to sleep.  Well....I should check it because it usually doesn't do that.  My sister is calling me?? Why? She is downstairs...is she wondering if we got here ok?  But Garrett picked us up, so she should know.

"Hello?"

"My water broke."

"You're joking. Ok, I'm coming downstairs, hold on."

When I left the house Char was snuggled up fast asleep with "Mah".

:)

Sure enough, we went to the hospital and she had the baby that morning!

Phew.  Talk about timing!

the only picture of us preggo together :)

Little Miss Daphne Jeanne Anderson

6.7 lbs

18 inches long

SO HAPPY I got to be there!!

So that was the first 24 hours of our Texas adventure :)

The rest of our visit was filled with fun adventures with Laney and Char Char.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!
