30 Day Photography Challenge-Day5

DAY 5

Morning Sky

I'm not much of a morning person-so to have remembered to take this picture, AND to have actually taken it are huge steps for me! Haha. My dream picture would've been that of the sun rising behind the mountains at home-but this one will have to do ;) That is one thing I missed almost immediately after moving here was the morning sky. I LOVED looking towards the mountains and watching the glow of the sun become brighter behind them.

Morning sky makes me remember a sunrise I watched with Jon when we were first dating. We were nestled in his little pick-up truck on Rocky Hill, had Margot and the Nuclear So and So's playing, and just sat there watching the beauty of all that is contained in a sunrise.
If you have never watched a sunrise with your love I challenge you to do so! It is a such a unique and calming experience. It seems as though the whole world is still and waiting in those couple minutes before the sun peaks over. Peaceful is a perfect word for it.

Happy Saturday! Time to go eat my donut! ;)

30 Day Photography Challenge

DAY 4

Leaves

Oh, you mean this doesn't count for leaves!?...oops!
(just have to mention that this little one rolled ALL the way over today!
Yay Charleigh!)
I love Fall-especially when the leaves change color! But today I had to compromise and photograph some leaves that were around our house. Charleigh was inside the house so I couldn't venture far, or for too long! And...it had rained all night so everything was all wet (but this proved to be an amazing photo plus!) The first two pictures in the series highlight the berries on the tree more than the leaves-but I couldn't resist! I mean, look how beautiful the water drops are hanging from them! Wow. So the last picture is more of a "leaves only" photo, and I really liked how the ivy was climbing up the tree. :) I'm really enjoying this challenge-it is making me a)step out of my photography comfort zone, b)use my camera everyday, and c)learn how to use my camera properly (finally!) ;) I think for this challenge I am only supposed to post ONE photo a day...but I am enjoying posting a couple more...(have I mentioned I'm not good at making decisions?) ;)

So one day you might just get one...and another day you might get a whole slew!
(yes...I looked up the word slew to make sure it was a real word and not one I just happened to make up..I've been known to do that)

SMILE

...'nuff said. :)

**Tomorrow's topic: Happiness (...tempted to use the same ones as Day 1 & 2! ha!)**

30 days of photography

So I found this on Pinterest today and have decided to do it!

November has exactly 30 days in it-so here it goes!

I'm a little behind (ok, just ONE day behind) so I will try and post the first TWO today. (My internet comes and goes here-so hopefully I can upload a picture a day.)

This should be fun! Join me if you want! (and let me know if you do!)

Happy November!

Want to know one of my pet peeves?...no? Well too bad! I'm gonna tell you anyway ;)

Putting out Christmas decorations BEFORE Thanksgiving!! Arrgghhhh! Makes me want to go down the aisle of every decorating store and rip it ALL down! Yes, it makes me that irritated.

**Now don't get me wrong...I've been known to bust out some
NSYNC or Hanson Christmas before Turkey Day...but that's about as far as it goes-and that's only because I want to stretch out as much of those two CD's as I can in the short amount of time I am given to listen to them ;)**

I think my hatred of the Christmas decor early is because Thanksgiving may just be my favorite holiday. Just the title alone makes it sound so appealing. Giving thanks. Which is how we should live our lives every day! Thinking about all that I have been blessed with-and being VERY thankful for it. Now THAT'S a holiday worth celebrating! No presents, no candy, no "hooplah" surrounding it. Just a simple holiday to celebrate family, friends, {food!} and all that we have been blessed
with.

Here is a little one that I am SO VERY blessed to have in my life.
I had a fun little photo shoot with her this past weekend. I don't think she had as much fun as I did-but I just couldn't pass this up! However, I cannot take full credit for the idea. I found a picture similar to these on Pinterest and knew I HAD to do something similar.

I mean, come on, how cute are these?

So that being said....

Have a HAPPY (no early Christmas, keep fall decorations up) THANKSGIVING!

And don't be too offended if I give you a dirty look for buying that Christmas decor in the store that I so desperately want to tear off the shelves :) <----(forced fake smile)

Happy 3 Months!

Happy 3 months old my Charleigh Grace! Wow how the time is flying by! You are growing so much lately. It seems like there is something new with you every single day...and I LOVE it!

Charleigh Grace

Likes: Sleeping in your own little bed next to mommy and daddy's (hooray!!)
kicking your feet
laying on your tummy
talking (cooing)
mornings...you are so happy in the morning!
chewing on your hands

Dislikes: When mommy leaves
Sudden movements from others (she's a scaredy cat!)
when people make fun of your hair...(oh wait...m
aybe that's just me! ;))

Growth: At your 2 month appointment you weighed 11lbs and were 23 inches long! So you probably weigh close to 12 lbs now. You wear 0-3 month clothes.

Appearance: Chubby cheeks, dimple in left cheek, little cleft chin, you are more aware of your surroundings, you still have no hair on top...and a lot around the bottom (we are still thinking about making you "friar tuck" for Halloween!) hehe. You have very long toes, just like your mama and dada :)
